Sixth Winner for Not a Single Doubt
Tara Madgwick - Wednesday, 25 March 2009
Arrowfield Stud’s Not a Single Doubt is starting to make a habit of siring winners, posting his sixth at Warwick Farm on Wednesday when the Danny Williams trained gelding Take the Waltz produced a barnstorming run to take out the juvenile event over 1000 metres from the Fastnet Rock filly M’Indigo.
First up from a spell following a fifth placed debut at Canberra on November 30, Take the Waltz settled back in the field and chimed in with a powerful finishing burst zooming down the middle of the track from near last on the turn to win by a length at his second race start.
“He’s always shown a huge amount of ability and it’s just come to fruition today, although I thought it would be too short for him as he’s crying out for a mile,” said Williams.
“He was very shinsore when he raced at Canberra and in hindsight I shouldn’t have run him as he raced about 12 lengths below what I thought he was capable of.
“We’ll take him along slowly for now, but maybe the Brisbane Winter Carnival might be the place for him.”
Take the Waltz was purchased for $65,000 from the draft of Bell River Thoroughbreds during Part Two of the 2008 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale and is from the Blazing Sword mare Sway with Me, a half-sister to South Australian Group Two winner Padre.
Take the Waltz is the sixth winner (two in New Zealand) for Not a Single Doubt (pictured) , whose four Australian winners have notably all been successful in the metropolitan racing area.
