Launched in 2006 as the marketing banner for Ashleigh Thoroughbreds, Byerley Stud and Riversdale Farm, Southern Cross Breeders has become one of the major success stories in commercial thoroughbred breeding.
The concept of showcasing yearlings prepared for sale by three respected boutique Hunter Valley farms under one umbrella is unique and has yielded much benefit for all, with record results at Magic Millions for the group in 2008 selling 27 yearlings for $2,927,500 to be the ninth leading vendor by aggregate.
This is a part of our ongoing series of articles leading up to the 2009 Magic Millions Yearling Sale where we will attempt to highlight five yearlings each week that ON PAPER at least, appeal as being suitable for a specific goal and this week we’re going to look for a colt with stallion potential.
Winning the right races is essential for any colt with ambitions in the breeding barn, but also an important part of the equation is the pedigree page and the better it is, the bigger the service fee will be at the end of the day.
Many thanks to all who supported the 2008 Breednet Foal Gallery, which has gone to another level this year in terms of numbers as more and more breeders around Australia discover our website.
Breednet was established to celebrate your achievements and help promote what you have to offer to a large targeted audience of fellow breeders, racehorse owners, industry participants and those looking to get involved who have a love of racing and breeding.
