The State of the Market
The global economic downturn that rocked Northern Hemisphere bloodstock sales in 2008 has arrived in Australia this year with every yearling sale so far recording declines of varying degrees and with the 2009 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale less than a month away we thought it was a good time to take stock and see where we are at.

Offering their independent views on the state of the market are respected bloodstock identities John Messara, Brett Howard, Glenn Burrows and Steve Brem.

Boom colt Northern Meteor lost no admirers with a solid fourth in the Newmarket and will be a fitter commodity with that run under his belt, while several of his peers went well enough to maintain hope, but not enough to add value.
