Patinack’s Babies One Year On



Twelve months ago Nathan Tinkler’s Patinack Farm had completed an unprecedented spending spree at Australasian yearling sales and the new season awaited to see just what the results would be for the more than 200 two year-olds which would include Patinack as a whole or part-owner.

With those results now to hand there is probably reason for a measured dose of satisfaction from the operation.

Meeting the mare market hots up

As the breeding season draws closer there has been a noticeable increase in the efforts of many stallion owners to meet the market in terms of offering deals to attract mares in the current tough economic climate.

Eliza Park are the latest, this week having announced their 3 for 10 offer whereby broodmare owners can send three mares to any five stallions for a flat fee of $10,000.

There has also been growing action on the Racenet Bloodstock Stallion Exchange.

Breednet Editor Abroad

Breednet editor Tara Madgwick is on holidays.

Empress Breednet, as she is known in these parts, is touring the UK with her family, but is Twittering while on tour.

A mere three days into her holiday we have learnt she has broken the plane's video screen, drunk Bacardi, not eaten bacon, found the best beds in the world and given a shop called Harvey Nichols a hammering.
