The Oaks Announce Fees

Media Release - Wednesday May 21
The Oaks Stud today announced the service fees for its stallion roster headed by exciting young sire DARCI BRAHMA who stands for a fee of $30,000+GST.

Darci BrahmaWith his eldest crop now five-year-olds, Darci Brahma continues his quick march up the Australasian sire ranks, his progeny enjoying another stellar season on the racetracks. Star performers in 2013-14 include Group 1 winners Nashville , Recite and Irish Fling , and smart Australian three-year-old stakes winners Cauthen and Marianne .

Darci Brahma's 2013-14 sire stats of one Group 1 winner per his every 62 individual runners (3 Group 1 winners/185 runners) sees him out-performing all the top Australasian sires, O'Reilly the next highest at 1:75 (4 Group 1 winners/300 runners), Exceed and Excel at 1:89 (3 Group 1 winners/267 runners), and Fastnet Rock at 1:95 (4 Group 1 winners/381 runners). For stakes winners per individual runner's Darci Brahma's current season performance is an enviable 1 per 23, with his winners per runner's percentage once again tops at 51%.

"Darci Brahma's sire stats are again quite remarkable, and as his race numbers increase in the seasons ahead we'll see him more dominant," said The Oaks manager Rick Williams. "He's had a great season here and with 49 fewer runners than O'Reilly he's done extremely well to establish his close position as New Zealand's second leading sire."

For Williams' the decision to bring Darci Brahma's fee back from $40,000 keeps the sire accessible to commercial breeders in what are still challenging times.

Great news also for fans of BACHELOR DUKE as the popular sire remains at his 2013 fee of $8,000+GST.

A terrific season for him has seen Shuka land a much deserved Group 1 win in the Captain Cook Stakes, Scapolo a Group 2 Coupland's Bakeries Mile win, and Spring Cheer a win in the Group 3 New Zealand Cup. Highly valued by owners and trainers, Bachelor Duke's progeny were seen to sell exceptionally well at both the Ready to Run Sale and the Karaka Yearling Sale.

ROC DE CAMBES
fee remains unchanged at $6,000+GST, offering breeders access to Japan's Champion Three-Year-Old Colt , a stallion with both the pedigree and physical type to match his superb race record.

Making a super impression on their trainers, Roc de Cambes' first crop two-year-old progeny are themselves showing all the necessary attributes to become top class classic three-year-olds in the new season ahead.

A reminder of the supreme strength of Japanese racing came this year with Gentildonna and Justaway winning two of the Group 1's raced on Dubai World Cup night, whilst Japanese Group 3 mare Hana's Goal also impressed when taking out the Group 1 All Aged Stakes at Randwick in April.

The Oaks stallion SAKHEE'S SECRET will not be shuttling to the stud in 2014.

This decision being purely economic as breeders now prefer to watch his progeny's progress rather than commit their mares.
