As
a half-brother by champion sire Redoute's Choice to Group I winning sire Charge Forward this
colt is bred to be good.
Sam Pritchard-Gordon was in the winner's circle at Cranbourne on Sunday with
blue-blooded three year-old colt The King's Cross, who resumed from a spell to score a resounding
win at his second start.
Sent forward from the jump by Jason Benbow, The King's Cross found the front
and had his rivals off the bit turning for home, cruising clear to win the 1200
metre maiden by more than three lengths.
Passed in shy of his $175,000 reserve at the Inglis Australian Easter Yearling
Sale where he was offered by Glastonbury Farm, The King's Cross is the sixth
winner from high class Australian bred South African Group I winner Sydney's
Dream, a daughter of champion sire Bletchingly.
The family is packed with Black Type performers and if The King's Cross can
follow in that vein, he'll be stallion material down the track.
