Encostanati
aims to go one better at Rosehill this Saturday after finishing second in his past two outings over the same course and distance.
He takes on a similar field again in race 5 LADBROKES.COM.AU HCP (1200m) at
2.52pm, where he meets last start winner Wonderbolt 5kg better at the weights,
courtesy of apprentice Serg Lisnyy's 3kg claim.
Encostanati finished 1.8L behind Wonderbolt last start but with the massive
turn around in weights, the result may play in his favour this time around.
Trainer Bjorn Baker also saddles up last start winner Coolring in the same race
and commented "It's not ideal to have them against each other but that's the
way it's worked out".
"Encostanati has been going well this campaign and I'm really happy with how
he's been performing. We've put Serg on to give him that bit of weight relief,"
Baker said.
The rising 4yo gelding by Encosta De Lago (pictured above) was purchased by
BlueBlood Thoroughbreds from the Magic Millions Horses In Training Sale in 2012
for $70,000 and has already amassed over $100,000 in prizemoney for the
syndicate of owners.
BlueBlood's Racing Manager David Mourad commented "He has been ultra-consistent
throughout his career and his record speaks for itself with 2 wins, 4 seconds
and 4 thirds from 12 starts".
"A win on Saturday would be most deserving, as he has been knocking on the door
for a while now," said David.
Best of luck to all the connections!
