Polanski Finds a Home in Victoria

Retired following a career ending injury earlier this year, Group I VRC Victoria Derby winner Polanski has found a home at stud in Victoria.

PolanskiThe talented son of Rakti (GB) will stand at Roycevale Farm near Violet Town in Victoria's north east.

A fee is yet to be announced for Polanski, who won four of 10 starts with prizemoney in excess of $1.1 million.

Polanski reeled off three successive stakes wins in the spring for Robbie Laing culminating in a commanding three length triumph over Group I ATC Spring Champion Stakes winner Complacent in the Derby.

A modest $4,000 Inglis Autumn Yearling purchase, Polanski is the best of five winners from Citrium, a well bred three-quarter sister-in-blood to Champion NZ 2YO Filly Ballroom Babe, whose offspring include the successful Queensland based sire Hidden Dragon.

Several Victoria Derby winners have gone to achieve varying degrees of success at stud including Blackfriars, Arena, Blevic, Nothin' Leica Dane, Helenus and Elvstroem.
