Not A Single Doubt Gelding Chases Black Type.

Mark Smith - Saturday July 26
Another Saturday, another two-year-old winner for the prolific Not A Single Doubt, and this one looks to have a bright future.

The Tony McEvoy-trained Affirmation will head to Sydney for the early spring stakes races following a commanding performance in Saturday's Grand Hotel Frankston Handicap (1400m) at Caulfield.

Ridden by Mark Zahra, Affirmation came from midfield with a barnstorming finish to defeat Club Star (Starcraft) by three lengths.

After finishing fifth in a hit and run mission for the Inglis Classic back in January, Affirmation opened his winning account at Morphettville on July 5.

Stable representative John Cornell said Affirmation will likely head to Sydney.

"He'll hop on the float tomorrow and head up to Sydney, I think Tony is looking at the Up And Coming Stakes in three weeks time," Cornell said.

"He keeps improving. That was a huge improvement on Adelaide his last start, he's very progressive,"

"He was a colt when he had his first start in the big Inglis race in Sydney but he came back, was gelded and has not looked back."

A $50,000 yearling purchase from the Three Bridges draft at the 2013 Inglis Classic sale, Affirmation (pictured as a yearling) is the third foal of the Octagonal mare Apocrypha herself a daughter of the Group 1 VRC Oaks heroine Tributes (Quest For Fame).

Apocrypha has a yearling colt by Domesday and a weanling colt by Dane Shadow.

She had a busy time of it last spring being covered by Domesday and Testa Rossa before taking up with Choisir.
