Australian bred Big Brown (USA) colt The Big Easy opened his career with a runaway victory at Vaal in South Africa on Thursday.

Prepared by Johan Janse van Vuure, The Big Easy gave his rivals a galloping lesson in cruising home to win the 1450 metre maiden by more than six lengths.

A $52,000 Magic Millions National Weanling purchase for Kerry Jack Bloodstock from the draft of Rothwell Park, The Big Easy is the fifth winner for stakes-placed Luskin Star mare Livid.

With his oldest Australian progeny just turned three, Kentucky Derby winner Big Brown stands at Vinery this spring at a fee of $16,500.
