Back on Black

Media Release - Friday August 1
If you have been following Black Revolver in his last few runs, I wouldn't be jumping off him just yet.

The now 4YO son of Lonhro is back on his home track at Rosehill tomorrow in race 8 BIG SPORTS BREAKFAST HANDICAP (1500 METRES) at 4.50pm and will find his feet much better in the firm going.

LonneroHis record at Rosehill on a good to dead surface is quite good, having raced there 4 times in those conditions for 1 second, 1 third and 2 fourth's, never being beaten by more than 1.9 Lengths on either occasion.

Locked and loaded in barrier 8 of 14, Black Revolver should be able to settle mid-field and finish off the race very strongly for his Blueblood Thoroughbreds team of owners.

Trainer Chris Waller commented pre-race, "We have a good jockey with Tye Angland aboard and the extra 100m will be helpful. I think he's a great chance providing he runs up to his last few runs which have been very competitive".

Lonnero (pictured), another near black 4YO gelding also trained by Chris Waller, resumes at Kembla Grange in race 1 NATIONAL JOCKEYS CELEBRATION DAY MAIDEN PLATE (1400 METRES) at 12.05pm.

He has drawn ok in barrier 8 and jockey Jay Ford will be endeavouring to get some cover with him.

Like Black Revolver, Lonnero is by champion stallion Lonhro and he returns to Kembla Grange where he placed on debut over 1200m. The extra 200m this time around should suit him well as he was storming home hard on that first occasion.

"His trials have been good and there was nothing wrong with his runs last preparation; now that he is older I think he will be a bit tougher mentally and obviously stronger as well. He should be fairly competitive in this race on Saturday," stated Waller.

Good luck to all involved in both of these runners tomorrow.
