More Sale Ring Success for Dream Ahead

The impressive 2014 European yearling sale debut made by Dream Ahead (USA) continued overnight with a son of the Emirates Park stallion being amongst the highest price purchases made on Day 1 of the DBS Premier Sale in Doncaster, England.

Dream AheadThe day's proceedings witnessed nine Lots fetching six-figure amounts including a bay Dream Ahead colt secured for £130,000 (approx. $230,850). The first foal of Poppy Seed, a stakes-placed daughter of Bold Edge, the youngster was secured by Tony Nerses on behalf of Saleh Al Homaizi and Imad Al Sagar.

The colt's new owners are very prominent Kuwaiti businessmen who raced Epsom Derby winner Authorized in addition to other top-line performers. Nerses also purchased on their behalf the top price Lot sold at the Arqana Deauville August Yearling Sale last week.

"We've been very lucky with first season sires and we really liked this colt, he's from a very fast family," remarked Al Homaizi. It is understood that the colt will be sent to Richard Hannon to be trained.

Other quality members of Dream Ahead's first crop made a similar impression at the Arqana Deauville August Yearling Sale where both his colts and fillies were also very well received. 

His top price representative fetched the equivalent of $386,000, while his Select Session average was close to 9-times his Irish service fee.
