Champion Win for Kuro

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday September 10
Darley based Denman is the sire of talented three year-old Kuro, who posted his third win at Warwick Farm on Wednesday.

DenmanPreviously trained by John O'Shea and now with Joe Pride, the striking black colt won at the same venue when resuming from a spell, but looked much more impressive this time around when coasting home to win the 1100 metre event by two and a half lengths as a hot favourite.

A $170,000 NZB Premier purchase for Champion Thoroughbreds from the draft of Curraghmore Stud, Kuro has now won three of five starts earning just shy of $90,000 in prizemoney.

He is the first winner for stakes-placed Distinctive Lass, a grand-daughter of champion sprinter Special from the family of triple Group I winner Bomber Bill.

Kuro's sire Denman was very popular with breeders last spring after producing Law to win the Listed ATC Breeders Plate and covered his biggest book to date of 184 mares at a reduced fee of $27,500.

This year the Golden Rose winning son of Lonhro stands at a fee of $33,000.
