The
Listed Hannans Handicap at Kalgoorlie on Wednesday went the way of Choisir gelding
Sireeze, who scored a surprise long head win in the 1400 metre feature.
Prepared by Sharon Miller, Sireeze overcame a wide gate to score a game victory
taking his overall record to five wins and 10 placings from 27 starts earning
$334,741 in prizemoney.
Already a stakes-winner having won the Listed WATC TJ Smith Trophy at three, Sireeze
was a $50,000 Magic Millions Perth purchase for his trainer from the draft of
Queenslea Park and is the first foal of Group III WATC Oaks winner Westerly
Breeze.
Westerly Breeze has a yearling filly by Hala Bek (IRE) and is due to foal to
the same sire.
Sireeze is the second stakes-winner of the new season for Choisir, who stands
at Coolmore at a fee of $29,700.
