A $1.5 million Inglis Easter purchase from the Arrowfield draft for Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa, two year-old Snitzel colt Sooboog looked a natural runner when clearing out to win his 840 metre trial by five lengths.
A full brother to brilliant filly Snitzerland, Sooboog is the most expensive yearling for his sire and does look the part.
Another two year-old that is the most expensive for his sire is Mawahibb, who is also prepared by Team Hawkes for Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa.
A half-brother by Magic Albert to Golden Slipper heroine Mossfun, Mawahibb knuckled down to his task in impressive fashion over the final furlong to score a powerful win.

The third trial winner for Team Hawkes was $1million Inglis Easter purchase Lake Geneva, a Fastnet Rock filly consigned for sale by Coolmore, from former brilliant two year old Hips Don't Lie, whose full sister Bella Luna also produced a trial winner in the Gai Waterhouse trained filly Prevail.
Lake Geneva was foaled and raised at Coolmore and as you can see from this picture has been practicing her running skills with Mum from an early age.
A daughter of champion sire Redoute's Choice, Lake Geneva's cousin Prevail was a $500,000 Magic Millions purchase for James Harron Bloodstock from the Arrowfield draft and runs for Dr Edmund and Belinda Bateman.

Prevail was purchased as a yearling, Fastnet Rock filly Rainbeam (from Mothwing) is a homebred and Themis (Not a Single Doubt x Thebe), was bred by them and then sold through the Newgate Farm draft at Magic Millions for $160,000.
On the first season sire front it was Yarraman Park's Hinchinbrook that put a
run on the board with two year-old gelding Brooklyn saluting by three lengths for
the Waterhouse stable.A $150,000 Magic Millions purchase from the Yarraman Park draft, Brooklyn is from smart metro winner Believe 'n Achieve and runs for a syndicate that includes Segenhoe Thoroughbreds and Yarraman Park.
Sooboog posted the biggest winning margin, but his time of 49.20 was equalled by Medaglia D'oro (USA) colt Vancouver, who won the first trial of the day for Gai Waterhouse.
A $185,000 Magic Millions purchase for Gai Waterhouse/James Harron, Vancouver was bred by Fairway Thoroughbreds and is a half-brother to Group I winner Juste Momente.
