A
homebred for Newhaven Park, the Gai Waterhouse trained filly Supara opened her
account with a stylish win at Canterbury on Wednesday.
Supara enjoyed a good run from gate one for Tommy Berry and surged clear of her
stablemate Ravenwitch to win by half a length in the 1100 metre maiden at her second start.
"Both fillies were impressive and can go on to better things," said Waterhouse.
"Supara is not fully mature, so whatever she's doing now is on raw ability. She
has a stack of improvement in her."
A daughter of Darley based Domesday, Supara is a half-sister to stakes-placed
Win for Layla and is the third winner from three to race from stakes-placed
Encosta de Lago mare Unabated, who comes from the family of stakes-winning
fillies Permai and Permaiscuous.
Unabated has a yearling filly by Smart Missile and is due to foal to Reset.
