First Win for Beneteau Sister

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday October 21
Just days after her-ill-fated brother Beneteau sired his first winner, talented three year-old filly Lady Moura cast off maiden status with a dominant win at Muswellbrook.

Redoute's ChoiceTrained by Paul Messara, as was her brother, Lady Moura improved on an unlucky debut third at Randwick earlier this month to bolt away and win the 1280 metre maiden by three and a quarter lengths as a red hot favourite.

A daughter of champion sire Redoute's Choice, Lady Moura was retained to race by Arrowfield and partners and is the second winner from stakes-placed Slice of Paradise, a full sister to champion filly Alinghi, who was bought by Arrowfield Stud as a racehorse for a multi-million dollar sum.

Slice of Paradise hasn't had a foal since Lady Moura, while Alinghi has a yearling colt by Snitzel and produced another filly by the same sire this spring.

The emergence of Alinghi brought this family into the spotlight resulting in many of its female members being bred to the top stallions, but despite the influx of commercial bloodlines, Alinghi and Beneteau remain the only stakes-winners in this family to date.
