Opening
his account at Randwick on Wednesday following three minor placings was the
Chris Waller trained High Chaparral (IRE) three year-old Quick Strike, a
$300,000 Inglis Easter purchase from the Coolmore draft for Anton Koolman
Bloodstock and Hermitage Thoroughbreds.
Improving with racing, Quick Strike was always handy and fought on in determined
style to win the 1550 metre maiden by a short neck.
Quick Strike is the fourth winner from four foals to race from Group II winner and terrific producer Sutology, whose three previous winners are the stakes performers Conscious
Mistake, Berenice and Lukander.
The daughter of Straussbrook was sent back to High Chaparral last spring so
will produce a full sibling to Quick Strike.
