The Robert Smerdon trained Lumosty was quite clearly a class above, ridden confidently by Nick Hall up on the pace before drawing away to win the 1600 metre contest by two and a half lengths.
Stakes-placed three times previously, Lumosty has the overall record of two wins and three placings from six starts with prizemoney just shy of $200,000.
Lumosty is being considered for a start in the Group I VRC Oaks (2500m), a race Smerdon combined with the filly's owner Phil Sly to win in 2011 with another Fastnet Rock filly in Mosheen.
"It will get further, she was very strong," said winning rider Nick Hall."I don't know about the Oaks, I'll leave that up to Robert to decide but she certainly handled that very easily."
A $185,000 Inglis Easter purchase for Flemington Bloodstock from the Coolmore draft, Lumosty runs for Phil Sly and Katsumi Yoshida, who enjoyed much success with Mosheen, who won four Group I events including the VRC Oaks by nine lengths.
"We'll think about now what we do next," said Smerdon.
"She's in the Oaks so whether we go straight there or go there at all. You never make a decision on raceday."
Foaled and raised at Coolmore, Lumosty is the first foal of Irish Group III winner Luminous Eyes (IRE), who comes from the family of champion racehorse Pilsudski and Group I winners Youmzain and Creachadoir.
Luminous Eyes has a yearling colt by Fastnet Rock and sadly lost a colt foal by Fasnet Rock this spring.
Lumosty is the 72nd stakes-winner worldwide for champion sire Fastnet Rock.
