Hinchinbrook filly Wins Clockwise Classic

Tara Madgwick - Saturday November 22
Yarraman Park's exciting young sire Hinchinbrook picked a nice race in which to post his first winner with the Gai Waterhouse trained filly Carriages booking her ticket to the $2million Magic Millions Classic in January with a sizzling victory in the $200,000 MM Clockwise Classic at Ballarat on Saturday.

Carriages - Darryl ShererThird on debut at Randwick on November 8, Carriages made full use of her experience in going right handed to fly the gates for Craig Williams and lead throughout.

She powered to the line to defeat previously unbeaten colt Prompt Return, a last start winner of the Group III VRC Maribyrnong Plate by two lengths with Moral Outrage third and another Hinchinbrook in Old Trieste flying home for fourth.

A $110,000 Magic Millions purchase for Round Table Racing/James Harron Bloodstock from the Yarraman Park draft, Carriages runs for Henderson Racing and Cook Bloodstock.

David Henderson is no stranger to Magic Millions success having raced Sweet Idea, who was runner up in the 2013 MM 2YO Classic before returning to win the MM 3YO Guineas at the start of this year.

"I was very down after she got beaten first start, I just could not believe it," said Henderson, who was at Ballarat to watch Carriages salute.

Carriages as a yearling"She had trained so well going into it I could not believe she had been beaten, but Gai kept pestering me about sending the filly for this race and in the end she won out.

"She'll head to the race at the Gold Coast now and I can't wait."

Bred and offered for sale by Yarraman Park, Carriages is the third winner for Simply Enchanting (USA), a half-sister by Forest Wildcat to Group II winner Shaniko and stakes-winner Silky Smooth.

Simply Enchanting has a yearling colt by I Am Invincible that will be offered at the 2015 Magic Millions by Yarraman as Lot 611.

A three-quarter brother by Fastnet Rock to leading sire Snitzel, Hinchinbrook was a very good juvenile himself so is expected to make an impact this season and has 24 entries for the 2015 Magic Millions. Click here to see them.
