Mark Smith - Saturday November 22
The Vaughn Sigley-trained Black Heart Bart had just a win in a maiden at Bunbury to show for his 10 starts but he primed for Saturday's Listed Carbine Club Of W.A. Stakes (1400m) with a third in the Group III Asian Beau Stakes and a luckless fourth in the Group III R.J. Peters Stakes.

Ridden by Patrick Carbery, Black Heart Bart had the job ahead to reel in New Time, Miss Rose de Lago and Crown Layer but no sooner had he edged passed that trio he faced a new threat in the fast finishing Real Love (Desert King).

The 4yo son Of Blackfriars held on by a half-length to earn his first stakes win.
