Redoute's Choice Mare Salutes in Jungle Mist Classic

Mark Smith - Saturday November 22
It wouldn't be a Super Saturday at Ascot without the colours of Bob Peters in the winner's circle but the Redoute's choice mare Antique Belle dealt the punters a blow when she edged out the hotpot Cool Trade in the Listed Jungle Mist Classic (1200m) emulating the deeds of her sister Broadway Belle who won the race five years ago.

It was just the third win in 15 starts for the homebred who captured the Listed Burgess Queen Stakes over two years ago.

Antique Belle is the fifth foal of the Metal Storm (FR) mare Antique who has been a regular visitor to Redoute's Choice. She was covered by the Arrowfield champion in eight of her first nine years at stud.

Antique has a yearling filly by Snitzel and was served by the son of Redoute's Choice again last year.

Placed behind Bulla Borghese in the 2002 Group 1 VRC Oaks and behind the future star broodmare Dextrous in the Listed Eliza Park Stud Stakes, Antique is a sister to Group II winner Kalatiara and dual Listed stakes-winner Kentiara.
