First Winner for Rothesay

Tara Madgwick - Sunday November 23
Glenlogan Park's exceptionally popular young stallion Rothesay joined Beneteau, Starspangledbanner, Hinchinbrook and War Chant as fellow first season sires to have produced an early winner in their first crop when the Tony Gollan trained Supersay delivered a very easy victory at Toowoomba on Saturday night.

Having just her second race start after an eye-catching 4th in town on debut, the daughter of Rothesay made a one-act affair of proceedings when she shot away at the top of the straight and then was just let idle through the last half furlong to record an exceptionally soft victory.

"She is progressing really well and taking all the steps we want her to," Gollan said.

Rothesay"She has always shown natural ability but she was probably just a little underdone at her first start and had a really good blow when she pulled up.

"However we were very confident that she would be tough to beat at this start and in the end she just toyed with them and was never going to lose.

"We will now have a sit down and decide what is best for the filly going forward.

"She is Magic Millions qualified but we want to do what is best for her long-term."

Supersay is the first winner for Supriym Story, a half-sister by General Nediym to stakes-winner My Destiny from the family of Group I winner Mr Bureaucrat.

Rothesay currently sits on the 3rd line of betting at $6 to produce the most number of winners in Australia from any first crop stallion.
