Another One to Watch Wins Again!

Godolphin had a good result during the spring carnival with a debut win for two year-old filly Antelucan in the Group III VRC Emirates Airline Plate and it was her year older half-brother that posted another impressive win at Mornington on Wednesday.

Prepared by Lee and Anthony Freedman, three year-old Medaglia D'Oro (USA) gelding Java was eye-catching when winning at his first run back from a spell at Kilmore and looked just as good today when scoring easily over 1200 metres by two and a quarter lengths as favourite.

Unplaced at his first two runs on the Geelong synthetic and then on a heavy track at Cranbourne, Java probably always had more ability than those runs suggested and can only be improved again after this effort.

A half-brother to Group III winners Crucial and Antelucan as well as Group III placed Hazard, Java is the fourth winner from Dawn Attack (IRE), an unraced half-sister by Fantastic Light to triple Group I winner Desert King.

He is one of 13 Australian winners this season for high profile Darley shuttler Medgalia D'Oro, whose oldest Australian progeny are three year-olds.
