Fairway
Thoroughbreds have bred a great many good horses and anyone that watched this
maiden event at Seymour on Thursday will be thinking they may have another one
in the pipeline.
Three year-old High Chaparral (IRE) filly Pattini was posted wide for the
entire 1300 metre trip from an outside gate, but surged to the front turning
for home and kept finding all the way to the line for Glen Boss in a determined
display.
Prepared by Mark Kavanagh, Pattini sports the colours of her breeder John
Camilleri (Fairway Thoroughbreds) as she was retained to race, which is not surprising
as she is the first filly left by terrific producer Skates since Group I winner
Juste Momente, born in 2003.
A stakes-placed Danehill (USA) daughter of dual Group I winner Skating, Skates has
had 10 foals to race for nine winners with Juste Momente joined by stakes-winner
Captain Coltish and this year's Listed ATC Breeders Plate winner Vancouver.
The 18 year-old is still going strong and produced this colt by Pierro this
spring at Segenhoe Thoroughbreds.
