As
a full brother to brilliant imported Group II winner Puissance de Lune (IRE),
there was always going to be plenty of interest in this dashing grey when he
stepped out at Wyong on Thursday.
Having his second run in Australia for Kim Waugh, five year-old Shamardal gelding His Majesty (IRE) raced clear to win
the 1350 metre Benchmark 70 event by a length as favourite.
A winner at Warwick in the UK from four starts last year, His Majesty is
lightly raced with a bright future and has a big team of owners headed by astute
bloodstock agent Robert Roulston.
He is the fifth winner from five to race from Unbridled's Song mare Princess Serena,
who is also the grand-dam of dual Group I winner Rizeena.
His sire Shamardal was in the news this week when his outstanding son Able
Friend took out the Group I HK International Mile.
