Joe
O'Neill's Prime Thoroughbreds have been enjoying a great winning run and added
another success to the tally at Launceston in Tasmania on Wednesday with another
victory for lightly raced filly Bella Venus, a $35,000 Magic Millions Session
Five purchase from the draft of Yarraman Park.
Prepared by Charlie Goggin and Luella Meaburn, Bellla Venus scored by a long
neck over 1400 metres as hot favourite and is unbeaten this preparation reeling
off three successive wins since a third placed debut back in June.
A first crop daughter of Kentucky Derby winner Big Brown (USA), Bella Venus is
the first foal and first winner for Bellasham, a Shamardal (USA) mare that
started just once and comes from the family of Group I winner and sire General
Nediym.
Yarraman Park will present another top class draft for the 2015 Magic Million
with 28 entries, nine of them by Champion First Season Sire I Am Invincible, seven
by Hinchinbrook and two by Magic Albert. Click

A regular shuttler to Vinery Stud, Big
Brown has no yearlings at the sales in 2015 as he did not come to Australia in
2012.
He does however have foals born this year and was covering again at Vinery this
year at a fee of $16,500.
Big Brown has had nine individual Australian winners this season headed by
stakes-placed Muscovado.
