Astute
agent David Redvers bought a lovely group of fillies for Qatar Bloodstock at
the 2013 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale and another of them cast off
maiden status with a stylish win at Cranbourne on Saturday evening.
Three year-old Fastnet Rock filly Bryony was a short priced favourite for the
1300 metre maiden and after racing on the pace fought on well to win by a long neck
for the Robert Smerdon stable.
Bryony was a $700,000 Inglis Australian Easter purchase from the Coolmore draft
and is a three-quarter sister to Group I winner and $2.2 million earner Triple
Honour.
She is the seventh winner from Nassipour (USA) mare Myrrh, whose current
yearling, a colt by Fastnet Rock, will be offered at the 2015 NZB Premier
Yearling Sale by Curraghmore Stud as Lot 85.
Myrrh produced another colt by Fastnet Rock this spring.
