Ill-fated
Beneteau featured with another debut winner at Bendigo on Sunday bringing his growing
tally of winners to four.
Prepared by Wez Hunter, two year- old filly Parcel took the 900 metre scamper by
three-quarters of a length on debut.
A modest $12,500 Magic Millions National Yearling purchase from the Newhaven
Park draft for her trainer and Bluegrass Bloodstock, Parcel is the second
winner for Gibraltar Range, a winning Rock of Gibraltar(IRE) daughter of French
stakes-winner Hancora.
Parcel joins an impressive list of winners for Beneteau that includes
stakes-winner Prompt Return and Sydney metropolitan winners Aegean Sea and Voilier,
while It's Vegas Baby is stakes-placed from just two starts.
Winner of the Group III MRC Blue Diamond Prelude at two, Beneteau also finished
third in the Group I MRC Blue Diamond Stakes and fifth in the Group I ATC
Golden Slipper, but never raced beyond his two year old season.
A good looking individual by champion sire Redoute's Choice from Slice of
Paradise, a full sister to champion filly Alinghi, Beneteau had solid
credentials and retired at a fee of $11,000.
He leaves two crops totalling 135 foals and has seven entries for the 2015 Magic
Millions and six for Inglis Classic.
