Astute
trainer Mark Kavanagh produced an impressive winner at Kyneton on Monday with
this daughter of Manhattan Rain running away to win by daylight.
Three year-old filly Wild Rain has had excuses for finishing out of the placings
in her first three runs, but she put it all together today to win in explosive fashion.
She led throughout for Damian Lane and cruised home to win the 1100 metre
maiden by eight lengths as a heavily backed favourite.
A $150,000 Magic Millions purchase from the Arrowfield draft, Wild Rain is a
three-quarter sister to stakes-placed Flowerchild and is the third winner for North
Flower, a sister to stakes-winners Canon Song and Duchess Katrin from the
family of champion galloper Northerly.
Wild Rain is another smart winner for Manhattan Rain, who is making good progress
and is second only to I Am Invincible on the Australian Second Season Sires
List by winners.
Manhattan Rain has 10 entries for Magic Millions.
