Consigned for sale by Newhaven Park, the Redoute's Choice colt from Kidman
fetched $720,000 when secured by James Harron Bloodstock in partnership with American
bloodstock investor John Moynihan."We both loved the horse and we thought he was arguably the best well bred horse in the sale," John Moynihan told Sky Racing.
"The sky is the limit for him if he runs up to his looks."
The colt will remain in Australia and be trained by Peter and Paul Snowden, who will receive an impressive list of purchases out of this sale by James Harron Bloodstock.
"James and I both liked this horse and why bid against each other. We had talked a while back about doing something together and this seemed like a good opportunity,"Moynihan added.
Foaled on November 17, which is late for this sale, the colt is a three-quarter brother to Singapore stakes-winners Zac Spirit and Zac Influence and will do nothing but grow and improve from here.
From a family nurtured by Newhaven Park, he is the seventh foal of Group II
placed Quest for Fame (GB) mare Kidman, a daughter of stakes-winner Unison from
the family of champion sprinter and sire Zeditave, who stood at Newhaven Park throughout his long and fruitful stud career. After missing in 2013, Kidman is safely back in foal to Redoute's Choice.
Newhaven Park sold the Magic Millions sale-topper last year when their Redoute's Choice colt from Hades fetched $1million and also sold the winner of the Magic Millions 2YO Classic when Unencumbered scored a memorable victory.
This year is also looking good with strong sales in the ring and a contender for this year's race with the Gary Portelli trained Exceed and Excel filly Racy, looking a great chance from gate nine with Josh Parr to ride.
