Some 611 lots have been catalogued including many talented fillies off the track, stakes performers and graded stakes-winners, by a wide variety of leading sires.
Champion sire More Than Ready, whose progeny have excelled in both hemispheres and particularly in Australia, has seven fillies and mares entered.
Of particular interest to Australian breeders may be Lot 290, a three year-old filly called Roughing, by the young Giant's Causeway sire Eskendereya from stakes-winner and proven Group I producer Playcaller.
The filly is a half-sister to Group I winner Diplomat Lady and Group II winner Dream Play (USA), who is at stud in Australia for leading Hunter Valley boutique nursery Kia Ora Stud.
The first foal of Dream Play is Group II VRC Sires Produce Stakes winner Zululand, who was sold at the Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale for $1.5 million and her second foal, another colt by Fastnet Rock fetched $500,000 at the same sale last year to the bid of Hawkes Racing.
Dream Play is being given every opportunity to succeed and has a filly foal by Fastnet Rock and was covered by Exceed and Excel last year.
As a young Storm Cat line mare that is completely free of Danzig blood, Roughing would be easy to mate for the Australian market and well suited as an outcross for our leading commercial sires.
