Former top-class staying mare Shuzohra has
passed away at the age of 30 in New Zealand.
She was put down on Wednesday night at the Levin property of Errol Skelton, who
trained the mare to win 15 races, including the Group I Brisbane Cup in 1990.
Shuzohra was also successful in Queensland in the Group II O'Shea Stakes and at
home she was the dual Group III winner of the Cuddle Stakes and the Noble
Heights Stakes.
The daughter of Tom's Shu was placed at Group One level in the Caulfield Cup,
Ranvet Stakes and the Wellington Cup.
Shuzohra was the dam of seven winners, including Reg (Gr.3 Churchill Stakes,
Listed Wanganui and Feilding Cups). - NZ Racing Desk
