Tassie Derby Plan for Bianconi Stakes-Winner

Media Release - Friday January 30
Tasmanian Derby bound Warrior Of Fire became classy and consistent stallion Bianconi's 19th stakes winner when recording a gutsy victory in the Listed Hobart Guineas last Sunday.

BianconiBeginning his winning run from the 500m in the $100,000 event, Warrior Of Fire was strong to the line - his success the culmination of a long time plan by trainer Jerome Hunter and owner/breeder Graeme Gathercole who outlined the race for the bay a year ago.

Always in form, Bianconi was represented by another smart winner at Strathalbyn on Wednesday, the lightly raced and promising Joy Flipper racing away by 1 3/4 lengths over 1200m - recording her second win from just four starts.

Also showing plenty of talent is Our Renaissance, winner of three of his eight starts - his latest by a soft 2 1/4 lengths at Muswellbrook.

Meanwhile in Queensland Red Claw is proving a horse to follow, the John Meagher trained three-year-old winning two of his five starts to date, only once finishing out of the first two.
Bianconi – who has settled in beautifully at Ridgeview Park near Bendigo, is the perfect owner/breeder horse with his winners-to-runners strike rate in excess of 60%.

Last spring serving a strong book consisting of daughters of Danehill, Redoute's Choice, More Than Ready, Encosta de Lago, Fusaichi Pegasus, Kenmare, Stravinsky, Scenic, Octagonal, Mossman, Famous Star and Royal Academy, Bianconi boasts high fertility and Ridgeview's Fiona Sloane is delighted with him.

"We are looking forward to Bianconi's first Ridgeview foals this year. We have been thrilled with the support he has been given and have already been taking queries for the spring."

For those looking to cash in on the Bianconi success story sooner, he has five yearlings at next month's Adelaide Magic Millions - a full brother to the dual city winner Sunset Cafe and the promising Scherzoso, a half-brother to the multiple metropolitan winner Stimulatte, a 3/4 brother to the Gr.3 placed Alcohol, a half-sister to the Gr.2 placed Buca di Bacco and a daughter of the five times winner Marana Majic.
