Second Winner for Stryker

Blue-blooded young Fastnet Rock sire Stryker posted his second winner on Friday when two year-old gelding Lightning Striker scored a dominant win as a short priced favourite.

StrykerThird on debut at Scone last month behind smart filly Moment of Music, the Jenny Graham trained Lightning Striker improved at his second run on his home track of Port Macquarie to win the 1100 metre dash running away.

A $29,000 Magic Millions Session Five purchase for owner Alan Miller from the Edinglassie Stud draft, Lightning Striker was bred by well-known owner/breeder Richard Pegum and is the first foal of winning Redoute's Choice mare My Amelia, a daughter of Group I winner Carry on Cutie.

Lightning Striker is the second winner for Stryker, who is also the sire of stakes-placed Miss Loren and She is Stryking from just nine runners to date.

The second crop of Stryker yearlings have been selling well this year with a colt from Live in Black and filly from Recurring fetching $165,000 and $100,000 at the Magic Millions Yearling Sale and a colt from Amaudru fetching $90,000 at the Inglis Classic Yearling Sale Summer Book earlier this week.

The foundation sire for progressive Victorian nursery Three Bridges Thoroughbreds, Stryker has a lovely draft of 10 youngsters for the 2015 Inglis Premier Yearling Sale and 19 catalogued for the Magic Millions Yearling Sale in Adelaide.
