Glyn Schofield had Always Allison in a striking position on the home turn and once balanced up came away to defeat favourite Speak Fondly by a half-length with Queenslander Tibrogargan Miss running a cheeky race another half-length away in third. (photos Lisa Grimm).
"We'll put some sensible thought into it over the next few days," Waller said.
"It's a good problem to have, I wouldn't be stressing about it today because we have still got to see who we have to beat.
"She's just not fool proof yet, she's not the best of beginners, jumped better in the trials but even today she was a touch slow. She's not going to have that blistering speed for a Slipper but she showed a different dimension today which was the most impressive part for me, she settled."
A three-quarter sister to Group 1 Victoria Derby winner Benicio, Always Allison is the third live foal of the winning Fusaichi Pegasus mare Rhema a daughter of Group III Blue Diamond Prelude winner Mannington the dam of Benicio and Group II winner Romneya.
Mannington is herself a daughter of the 1993 Golden Slipper heroine Bint Marscay who was bred by Paul Fleming's father Jim Fleming. Besides Mannington, Bint Marscay produced Group 1 Coolmore Classic winner Bollinger and Group III winner Sheraton.
Rhema has a Stratum yearling colt already named Itsa Fait Accompli and a filly foal by Sepoy. She was bred back to All Too Hard last spring.
Always Allison is the 136th stakes-winner for Vinery Stud's More Than Ready (USA) who has five yearlings headed to the Inglis Premier Yearling sale.
