The
South African buyers have been very active at the Inglis Premier Yearling Sale this
week and it was one of their purchases from 2013 that broke her maiden in good
style at Durbanville on Wednesday.
Three year-old High Chaparral (IRE) filly Sassy Sal scored by a length and a
quarter over 2000 metres at her fourth start for Vaughan Marshall.
A $50,000 Inglis Premier purchase from the Supreme Thoroughbreds draft for K
Truter, Sassy Sal is the third winner for Chevaleresse (IRE), a half-sister to
Group II winner Riyadian and to the dam of Hong Kong stakes-winner Charles the
Great.
A three-quarter sister to this filly by So You Think was passed in at Premier
this week shy of her $80,000 reserve.
