Woodside Park Stud Roster Announced

Media Release - Thursday March 5
The arrival of Northern Meteor's dual Group I winning son Zoustar to stand alongside red hot stallion Written Tycoon is proof of Woodside Park Stud's commitment to the Victorian breeding industry.

After covering a stellar book of 185 mares and with exceptional fertility at Widden Stud last season, Zoustar's arrival at Woodside gives Victorian Breeders an opportunity to breed to this exciting young stallion without sending their mares to New South Wales.

ZoustarIn an innovative partnership between Woodside and Widden, Zoustar will spend alternate seasons at their respective farms for his first four seasons at Stud.

His service fee remains at $40,000 plus GST.

The outstanding run of stakes winners by the progeny of Woodside resident stallion Written Tycoon has resulted in an increase in his 2015 service fee.

With five individual stakes winners in February: It Is Written, Stoker, Tycoon Tara, Vibrant Rouge and Written Dash and his current yearling crop from his season in Queensland averaging nearly $90,000, Written Tycoon is already in high demand for the forthcoming season.

His outstanding son Rich Enuff is progressing nicely in recovery from an injury setback and is still the equal highest rated Australian 3YO after his spring campaign, where he won three stakes races including Group 2 VRC Danehill Stakes and Group 3 MRC Caulfield Guineas Prelude, as well as his courageous second in the Group 1 Caulfield Guineas.

He is currently spelling at Woodside and will return to trainer Ken Keys to be prepared for his spring assault on the major Group 1 sprints.

Written Tycoon is proven both on the racetrack and in the sales ring and his 2015 service fee will be $18,000 plus GST.

The Woodside roster is completed by the proven Danehill stallion Foreplay. Limited in the past by fertility issues, Foreplay is now extremely fertile since having stem cell treatment and has averaged an in foal percentage of over 80% since being at Woodside.

He represents outstanding value at his $6,000 plus GST service fee that remains unchanged from 2014.
