Aussie Juvenile Stakes-Winner in South Africa

Vinery Stud's champion sire More Than Ready (USA) has had a recent flurry of juvenile stakes-winners – Always Allison, Haybah, Ready for Victory – and now in South Africa a debut success for Entisaar in the Listed Ruffian Stakes at Turffontein.

Entisaar as a yearlingThe Mike de Kock trained filly was first up in the 1000 metre dash and scored by a length and a quarter as favourite carrying the blue and white colours of Sheikh Hamdan.

Shadwell have been big buyers at the Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale in recent years and Entisaar is another of their successful purchases, snapped up for $300,000 from the draft of Vinery Stud.

Entisaar is the first winner for Group III placed Catbird mare Purrpurrlena, a daughter of stakes-winner Magdalena.

She becomes the 139th stakes-winner for More Than Ready, who has a big draft of some 30 yearlings for Inglis Easter in April.
