The Murray Baker and Andrew Forsman-trained New
Zealand Derby victor Mongolian Khan has arrived in Sydney where he will prepare
for a tilt at the Group I Australian Derby (2400m) at Randwick on April 4.
The Tasmanian bred son of Holy Roman Emperor (IRE) has settled in well at the Warwick Farm stable of Bjorn
Baker, the son of Mongolian Khan's co-trainer Murray Baker.
"He travelled over really well on Monday morning and had a walk and a pick
on Monday afternoon," co-trainer Andrew Forsman said, who accompanied the
colt on his journey.
"He ate all his feed and worked a round on Tuesday morning and we couldn't
be happier with him."
A decision has yet to be made as to whether Mongolian Khan, who will be ridden
in Sydney by Opie Bosson, will tackle the Group 1 Rosehill Guineas (2000m) on
March 21 en route to the Derby. - NZ Racing Desk
