Haunui
Farm have today announced their service fees for 2015.
Showcasing, New Zealand's Leading 2YO & First Season Sire, will stand for a
fee of $10,000 + GST in 2015 whilst Iffraaj, New Zealand's Leading sire of
3YO's and sire of 11 stakes performers this season, will stand at an un-changed
fee of $15,000 + GST. Joining them again
on the Haunui roster is Group One Australian Guineas-winner Ferlax whose first
foals are due in 2015 will also stand at an un-changed fee of $7,000 + GST.
Hot young sire Showcasing couldn't have got his stallion career off to a better
start. His Northern Hemisphere success
saw him end 2014 as the Leading First Season Sire of GB and Ireland and this
success has continued here in the Southern Hemisphere where he has sired Karaka
Million-winner Hardline, as well as Group Two-winner Showboy, stakes performed
filly Platinum Express and, unbeaten colt Boodles. With the success of Hardline in his
Australian debut and, the sale of Showboy to Hong Kong and Boodles to
Singapore, Showcasing is well placed to make an impact in the markets so
essential for New Zealand breeders.
The progeny of Iffraaj have continued to go from strength to strength and this
season saw him land his first Group One-winner in the Southern Hemisphere when
Turn Me Loose was such an impressive winner of the 2000 Guineas in November. Iffraaj also boasts two of the leading
three-year-old fillies in the country – Group One-performer's Sardaaj and Belle
Miraaj - and also has Group Two-winning two-year-old Serena Miss and St
Leger-winner Iffwedance among his eleven stakes performers this season.
Haunui Farm's Managing Director, Mark Chitty says, "We couldn't have asked for
a better start to Showcasing's career and Iffraaj's progeny just keep getting
better with him not only the leading 3YO sire but sitting third on the General
Sires table behind Savabeel and Darci Brahma and ahead of O'Reilly, Pins and
Tavistock.
"Both stallions have seen service fee increases in the Northern Hemisphere and
they are certainly in far superior positions in terms of racetrack and sale
ring performance than they were at this time last year. That being said, we are mindful of the
current climate in the New Zealand breeding industry and it is with that in
mind, that we have set our fees for 2015 at what I am sure breeders will agree,
are very reasonable and competitive levels.
"It is certainly exciting to have two young stallions such as Iffraaj and
Showcasing doing the job but we are also very pleased to have a young stallion
like Ferlax, a Classic-winner, to round out our stallion roster. He is just starting out in terms of his
stallion career but it pays to keep in mind that the last three stallions that
we have introduced to the market, have all been leading sires – Showcasing,
Iffraaj and before them, Elusive City.
With the opportunity that Ferlax has been afforded by his owner Jonathan
Munz and, fellow breeders, he could well be the next."
Iffraaj and Showcasing will serve strictly limited books in 2015. For further information or, to make a booking
to any of the Haunui stallions, please call Mark – 021 663 995 – or Shannon –
