Stuart
Ramsey of Turangga Farm has bred and sold a lot of good horses including the
world's best miler Able Friend and it was one of his homebreds that caught our
eye as a One to Watch when winning on debut at Tamworth on Tuesday.
Four year-old More Than Ready (USA) gelding Trustee was turned out in tip top
order by up and coming Scone based trainer Melanie O'Gorman and went to the
post a short priced favourite.
He pushed forward from gate one to lead for Greg Ryan and cruised home to win
as he pleased under hands and heels riding, the race appearing little more than
a barrier trial for the talented sprinter.
Trustee was entered for the 2012 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale, but
withdrawn and had done nothing in public until winning a trial at Scone on
March 14.
He is the second winner for astute horse woman Melanie O'Gorman, who is now
training a small team at Scone after ending her marriage to well-known horse
trainer Tim Martin.
Trustee is in excellent hands and may well deliver on the potential shown by
his full brother Huegill, who was third in a Group I MRC Caulfield Guineas.
He is the second winner for South African Group I winner Trust Antonia (SAfr),
who produced another filly by More Than Ready for Turangga Farm last spring and
was subsequently covered by Not a Single Doubt.
