Rich Hill Announce Service Fees

Media Release - Thursday April 2
Yearlings by the five-time Gr 1 winner Jimmy Choux were keenly sought after by domestic and international buyers with a 100 percent clearance rate during Karaka's Premier Sale and eight youngsters selling for an average of $105,000.

Jimmy ChouxDespite that success, this year's service fee for the 2011 New Zealand Horse of the Year will remain unchanged at $10,000 + GST.

Among those thrilled with the son of champion sire Thorn Park's auction ring results has been Greg Tomlinson's progressive breeding operation Nearco Stud.

Three of their Jimmy Choux colts broke the $100,000 mark, prompting them to increase their commitment by exercising their right to purchase further shares in the stallion.

Meanwhile, reliable Group One producer Pentire will offer outstanding value at a reduced 2015 fee of $13,500 + GST.

The perennial leading sire has enjoyed another great year in Australia to date with 36 individual winners, including stakes winners Atacama, Prince Of Penzance and Group One performer Entirely Platinum. His yearlings sold up to $240,000 at Karaka earlier this year.

Promising staying sire Shocking will also stand at the reduced service fee of $7500 + GST. He has had only two first crop runners to date and they have both been placed over 1200 metres.

Shocking, whose yearlings were again well received at Karaka when selling up to $130,000, looks set for a good autumn as more of his progeny step out in preparation for next spring.

Rich Hill's stallion roster is completed by their new acquisition Proisir, a former star Australian three-year-old and son of leading international sire Choisir. Choisir has already made his mark as a sire of sires with Starspangledbanner proving a success at stud and Olympic Glory shuttling to Arrowfield this coming season.

Proisir will be offered at an introductory fee of $7000 + GST.
