Dams of Sale-Toppers in Foal to I Am Invincible

Tara Madgwick - Friday April 10
The rising fortunes of Yarraman Park's young sire I Am Invincible were brought into focus at the 2015 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale when his only entry in Session I sold for $750,000 and the dam of the sale-topping $2,2 million Snitzel colt was revealed to be in foal to this most exciting of young stallions.

John Muir of Milburn Creek is one of the most astute breeders in the industry and is always on the lookout for value in the stallions he selects for his mares, which is how he came to choose Snitzel (service fee $33,000 in 2012) for his good producer Admirelle in 2012.

I Am InvincibleReplicating a mating that had already produced Group I winner Sizzling, Mr Muir has bred a stunning colt that has delivered his best ever result in the sale ring.

It's flattering that Admirelle was among the 211 mares covered by I Am Invincible last spring at the increased fee of $27,500 as was Group II winner Sister Madly, the dam of this year's Magic Millions sale-topping Sepoy colt that made $1.2 million.

She too is in foal to I Am Invincible as are other top commercial producers Vormista and Celebrity Girl.

Group II winner Vormista is the dam of Group I MRC Blue Diamond Stakes place-getter Reemah and her Fastnet Rock colt at Inglis Easter sold for $650,000, while stakes-winner Celebrity Girl achieved a huge result when her very first foal, a filly by Sepoy, sold for $850,000 at Magic Millions earlier this year.

Given the quality of mares covered last year, it won't be long before I Am Invincible has the firepower to compete seriously at the top end of elite yearling sales and he gave good indication of this when his lone Inglis Easter Session I entry, a colt from Rivers Secret sold for $750,000.

Bred and offered for sale by Yarraman Park and bought by the China Horse Club partnering with US based Stonestreet Stables, the stunning colt proved that I Am Invincible holds widespread commercial appeal for the international market as well as the domestic buyers who have ensured his success to date.

I Am Invincible has had a substantial fee increase this year going to $55,000, but in light of current events that might be an increase well justified.
