First Stakes-Winner for Wanted

Tara Madgwick - Saturday May 2
The Listed SAJC Oakland Plate at Morphettville on Saturday over 1600 metres might not have been the strongest Black Type event we've seen, but it did produce the first stakes-winner for young Eliza Park International based sire Wanted when Dead or Alive saluted in good style.

Dead or Alive as a yearlingThe Mick Price trained gelding improved sharply on his unplaced debut at Caulfield last month to win by three-quarters of a length.

A $110,000 Magic Millions purchase for his trainer from the Musk Creek Farm draft, Dead or Alive is the second winner for Sun Lane (GB), a placed half-sister by Daylami to Group I winner Victory Note.

Sun Lane has a weanling colt by Kentucky Derby and Dubai World Cup winner Animal Kingdom (USA) entered for the Magic Millions National Weanling Sale to be offered by Riversdale Farm as Lot 181.

Dead or Alive is the 14th individual winner for Wanted and is his very first stakes-winner, the Group I winning son of Fastnet Rock standing at the reduced fee of $16,500 this year at Eliza Park International.
