Angry owner to front RAD Board

Brad Waters - Wednesday September 6

A Victorian owner will front the Racing Appeals and Disciplinary Board to answer a charge relating to an abusive message sent to a jockey.

Stewards charged Rory Button with engaging in misconduct, improper conduct or unseemly behaviour after alleging he sent a voice message to "a number of licensed people, including jockey Stephen Baster" on August 5.

Button allegedly sent the audio after a horse he part-owns, the Peter Morgan-trained Cosmic Lights, was scratched in the mounting yard from a race at Flemington.

Button will appear before the RAD Board on September 22.
