Peace Force Gains Revenge on Stablemate in Glenlogan

Mark Smith - Saturday May 23
Not sure what the Gerald Ryan-trained Peace Force is worth now following her game win over her high-class stablemate Solicit in Saturday's $150,000 Group III Glenlogan Park Stakes (1350m) at Doomben, however it is a fair bet it would be a good deal more than the $80,000 she cost part-owner Glenn Williams.

Ridden by Tim Bell, Peace Force reversed the decision on Solicit who beat her narrowly in the Group III Darley Crown at Rosehill on May 9.

Peace Force (Bernardini) defeated Solicit (Street Cry)) by a short-head with three-quarters of a length back to the John Dann-trained outsider Tukiyo (Haradasun)) in third.

The 5-year-old daughter of Bernardini (USA) is compiling a noteworthy record.

Her maiden stakes win takes her overall record to 7 wins, 6 seconds and 1 third from 18 starts for earnings of $409,485.

Bred by Orange Grove Thoroughbreds who consigned the filly to the 2011 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling sale, Peace Force is out of Group II placed Marscay mare Marrego, the dam of five-time G1 winner and $4.2 million earner Eremein (Timber Country) as well as stakes-winner Gliding (Flying Spur).

Marrego was consigned to the 2013 Inglis Easter Broodmare sale where she was purchased by Stuart Ramsay for $13,000.

It would be pleasing to report Marrego has repaid the faith however she has not had a live foal since the Lookin' At Lucky filly she had at foot when purchased by Ramsay.

The colt was sold for $3,000 as a weanling and in the past four seasons, Marrego has missed to So You Think aand High Chaparral, had a Manhattan Rain foal that died after birth was covered by Manhattan Rain again last spring.

A half-sister to Peace Force, Eremein and Gliding), the 3-time Melbourne winner Danrego (Danzero) is catalogued for the upcoming National Broodmare Sale.

Peace Force becomes the 37th stakes-winner for Darley Stud's Bernardini (AP Indy) will stand the coming breeding season at Kelvinside at a fee of $27,500 inc. GST.
