She's Looking to the Stars

Media Release - Sunday May 24

Just a week after the 2015 Inglis HTBA Scone Yearling Sale, classy filly Look to the  Stars showed just why this is such a great value sale.

Look to the Stars - Trackside PhotographyImpressive two-year-old Look To The Stars has taken her career earnings past $220,000 today and value even higher with a powerful win in the $250,000 Group 2 BRC Sires' Produce Stakes at Doomben defeating Blueberry Hill and Cylinder Beach.

Bred and sold by Yarraman Park Stud,Look To The Stars (I Am Invincible x Star Prize)was purchased just over a year ago by Darby Racing from the Inglis HTBA Scone Yearling Sale for $26,000. This was the first victory in this race for the filly's veteran trainer, Clarry Conners.

"It must be mismanagement on my part that I have never won a Sires' before,"

"She has been up a long time but she seems to be taking it well," Conners said, who plans to continue the filly's Brisbane Winter Carnival campaign in the $600,000 Group 1 BRC JJ Atkins in two weeks.

This is the second consecutive year in which Darby Racing has won the Group 2 BRC Sires' Produce with a graduate of the Inglis HTBA Scone Yearling Sale, following last year's victory withTime For War.

Other Australian stakes wins by Inglis graduates on Saturday were Lumosty and La Amistad at Flemington, and Sense Of Occasion at Royal Randwick,

Lumosty (Fastnet Rock x Luminous Eyes)took out the Listed VRC Straight Six Handicap at Flemington in her second consecutive win this preparation. A $185,000 purchase from the draft of Coolmore Stud at the 2013 Inglis Easter Yearling Sale, the three-year-old filly races for owners Phillip Sly and Katsumi Yoshida and is trained by Aquanita Racing's Robert Smerdon. Winner of four of her nine career starts, Lumosty has earned just shy of $340,000, and is now equal favourite for the $2,000,000 Group 1 BRC Stradbroke Handicap on 6 June.

La Amistad (Redoute's Choice x Tugela)has always had big shoes to fill, however her bold win in the Listed VRC Andrew Ramsden Stakes at Flemington today in the Makybe colours was very reminiscent of her famous sister, over the same course and distance of 3200m. Failing to meet her $750,000 reserve at the 2011 Inglis Easter Yearling Sale, the mare was retained and raced by her breeders, Makybe Stud and a small group of owners. Co-trainer Wayne Hawkes is keen for the filly to contest the Melbourne Cup later this year, following a spell.

At Royal Randwick,Sense Of Occasion (Street Sense x Saywaan)saluted in the Listed ATC WJ McKell Cup for Joe Pride and a syndicate of owners, taking his earnings past $230,000. The now four-year-old was bred by Shadwell Stud and purchased by Beamish Bloodstock for $80,000 from the draft of Yarraman Park Stud at the 2012 Inglis Easter Yearling Sale.
