Newgate sold 19 weanlings for $1.4 million to a wide variety of buyers with the top seller a lovely colt by Golden Slipper winner Pierro from Assail that made $260,000 for his breeders Rob and Donna Love.
He's pictured here in the paddock at Newgate Farm last year as a foal with his stakes-winning dam Assail, who is due to foal to Lonhro this spring.
Next best for Newgate was a striking bay All Too Hard colt from Pink Siris that made $200,000 for his breeder Bob Hannon.
Newgate also sold several youngsters by our foundation sire Foxwedge, the best result a colt from Hush Up that made $120,000 to US based buyers Solis/Litt Bloodstock.
The sale continues on Wednesday with the broodmares and another stellar offering from Newgate Farm including Group I winning mare Rostova in foal to champion racehorse Frankel to Southern Hemisphere time.
