Amanpour Added to MM Sale

Media Release - Tuesday May 26
A last minute quality draft of eight lots has joined the Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale and will go under the hammer at the conclusion of Friday's auction.

Amanpour - Lisa GrimmHeadlined by last start Group One winner Amanpour, the draft from Gooree Park, acting as agent for a deceased member of the family, includes two racemares, four broodmares and two weanlings.

Amanpour, a four-year-old daughter of Northern Meteor, scored a brilliant and dashing win in the Queen of the Turf Stakes at Randwick at her most recent start on April 11. The outstanding racemare has registered four wins and eight placings from just 18 starts for earnings of $892,740.

A full sister to stakes winning juvenile Sports Edition and half sister to Turf Express, Amanpour is from the Marscay mare Newcaster, a mare who is also set to go under the hammer after being served by Smart Missile last spring.

Amanpour's half sister, the unraced mare Swing Dance, is also catalogued. She's already produced the stakes performers Swing Vote and Street Rapper and was served in September by Congrats.

Two of Swing Dance's daughters including the stakes performed juvenile Swing Vote will be offered. Swing Vote was served by Smart Missile in her first season at stud while three-year-old filly Swing Sensation is a racing prospect with a win and two placings from just seven starts.

Group Two winning mare Gold Water is another quality entry. The $770,000 plus earner by Choisir was served last spring by Congrats.

Gold Water's second live foal, a colt by Smart Missile, is one of two weanlings up for sale. The other weanling is the Your Song half sister to stakes performers Street Rapper and Swing Vote.

The eight lot dispersal will be offered following the supplementary broodmares at the conclusion of the sale on Friday. The horses will be in paddock condition and will be available for inspection in Barns A and B from Thursday morning.
